  • Paediatric occupational therapy (OT) assists children to do things that they need to do as a child - learn, play, work, grow, and interact with the world and others around them. Occasionally, those “important jobs” known as occupations are more challenging to engage in, participate in, or perform in than they should be. This is when occupational therapy can help a child to harness their potential within those everyday tasks and roles.

  • Each child is unique and all children are embarking on differing journeys since their arrival here on the earth. Paediatric OTs are highly skilled therapists who are trained to view and analyse a child holistically and consider the world that they are within.

Paediatric OTs support children to build a variety of skills within their everyday “jobs”:

    • Fine motor

    • Gross Motor

    • Visual Motor

    • Cognitive and executive functioning

    • Sensory processing

    • Self regulation and emotional regulation

    • Self-care

    • Prosocial communication and engagement

  • Mother Earthed OT is a unique therapeutic pathway model where children work on their goals outside immersed in nature, utilising where possible nature-based resources and materials. Mother Earthed incorporates the natural elements of water, earth, air and fire within therapy sessions to rediscover the powerful transformative benefits of nature.

This approach to occupational therapy weaves together research back best practice strategies and anecdotal findings to work with your child holistically in the outdoors. Mother Earthed OT provides a comprehensive support to empower and equip caretakers for ongoing outcomes.

Within this pathway there is a clear entry and exit to therapy. The intention is to allow for the many external factors of life. It allows for commitment within a well organised system so that everyone within the child’s therapy team are aware of the expectations and treatment plan. Mother earthed will work with children as a part of their chosen package which is significantly different to the ongoing weekly or fortnightly appointments within a traditional model where there doesn’t seem to be an end point. Treatment blocks used by Mother Earthed invites families to walk the path of intentional intensity and to dance with the seasonal changes being open-minded to periods of rest to recalibrate and consolidate skills.

  • At Mother Earthed OT, we serve many children for many different reasons with a plethora of variations in their goals. The pathway offers service to children from birth until 12 years of age, where therapy is customised to the needs of the child and their family.

If your child is experiencing challenges or difficulty with participating in any of their daily jobs (e.g. feeding/eating, dressing, bathing, toileting, playing or learning), or if you feel like your child could benefit from more time outdoors, contact us for more information.

  • For the individual therapy pathways, the process starts with you completing the intake form. Following this you can either schedule your own time to make a free intake phone call or someone from the team will be in touch to book a time that suits.

For The Coven – mentorship and supervision village, we are taking expressions of interest where you can add your name to the list for our next round of intake.

For The Circle – education and training workshops, please complete the inquiry form and we will get back to you with further information.

    (b) Failure to attend an appointment without providing prior notice incurs a 100% cancellation fee.

    (c) If a medical certificate can be provided within 48 hours after the missed appointment, which demonstrates your inability to attend due to ill health, we may, in our sole discretion, agree to waive all or part of your cancellation fee.
